You know I think i jinxed myself with that last post. After complaining about those two Co-teacahers I struggle with, they left!!
The gentlemen from India just up and quit because he couldnt take the stress he told me, and the other grouchy sub was moved to another class. Sounds like the squeaky wheel really does get the grease. Now its gonna be like starting school all over again this week. Seeing how its 12 weeks into the year, that's going to be fun. And you wonder why CCSD is so far behind in test scores and stuff.
This year is goind to be one to remember. I visited the Doctoral coordinator at UNLV last week. I decided that I really would rather spend some progressive / future teaching endeavors in higher ed. instead of public schools. Go figure right?, after this year alone! I hope I can get in to UNLV's program next fall. If the GRE treats me well, then here I go! Next time you see me, after asking if I am totally crazy, please rub my shoulders becasue I might need it.

BACK at it!!
Wow, its been almost a year it seems since I updated my blurg. I know all my patient fans have been waiting. life is good recently, as I have discovered even more fully the blessings of a family to go home to at night. I work as a high school teacher for my profession and this is "that year" that is just not a great year. I have been at this official teaching gig now going on 5 years and love it! I love teaching and I love the students, most of em.
But, this year is rough. I got surplussed at my last school and had to move. I am glad I have a job this year with all the cutbacks, etc. But man its lame-o. I am at a school that is all Co-Teaching and in a lower income part of town. So the students are pretty nuts, and even more so are the teachers I am around. Co-teaching can be great or not so great. This year, its not so great.
One of the teachers I started out with was awesome at the first of the year, but then he just up and quit 4 weeks into the first quarter! What a dork, didnt even see if he like a full year or not. So I was given a long term sub that is just a cranky cus and she doesnt really care about things. Then my last period I am with a gentlemen from India who cannot speak a defined word of English. last period, weak English, pre-algebra with Freshmen. Nightmare.
So, how glad I am to head home to 3 crazy, fun, loving daughters who jump all over me and lift me up after every knarly day of teaching. And my wife, how awesome she is to listen to my major complaints and rants. Family is what its all about.
